Enhancing Accountability through Improved Tracking and Transparency in the Commodity Supply Chain

The implementation of EUDR has established stringent guidelines, compelling companies to ensure that their products do not contribute to deforestation. This initiative is gradually gaining momentum by nations including Indonesia, prompting a reevaluation of the production system for seven key commodities.

As the nation and its companies are taking step to comply with the regulation, it is essential to carefully assess the capacity levels and identify the specific stakeholders in Indonesia who should play a role in adhering to the regulation. This is particularly crucial for addressing key aspects like the inclusion of small producers, pertinent certification schemes, tracing and transparency mechanisms, scientific data concerning deforestation and forest degradation, and the safeguarding of data privacy.

In correlation with the needs above, DIPI (Dana Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia) organizes a workshop with the theme of “Handicrafts from Neighboring Countries, Struggle of Main Commodity Stakeholders Affected by EUDR”. The workshop aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas and gather inclusive solutions to leverage the EUDR implementation within the stakeholders.

Our Co-Founder and Board Member, as well as Government and Partnership Management, Ainu Rofiq, will be featured at the workshop in session II “Best Practices and Solution Efforts”. With his expertise, he will unveil insights to enhancing accountability through improved tracking and transparency in the commodity supply chain.
