New Market Signals: Deforestation-Free Products
The European Union Deforestation-Free Regulation (EUDR) seeks to eliminate products linked to deforestation from the EU market by enforcing stringent supply chain traceability, risk assessments, and Due Diligence Statement (DDS) reporting for commodities entering the EU. Initially set to take effect in December 2024, the enforcement date has been postponed to December 2025 due to the complexity of compliance requirements and calls for clearer guidelines.
However, businesses must stay proactive in ensuring their supply chains are sustainable and deforestation-free to avoid disruptions when the regulation is implemented.
Join Silvan Ziegler at the panel discussion on Day 2 of the 5th Agro-industrial Congress, organized by ANDI. Under the theme "New Market Signals: Deforestation-Free Products," Silvan will explore how shifting consumer demands and international regulations are reshaping global supply chains—and how Colombian agriculture can turn these challenges into competitive advantages.
