BeyondTraceability Talks - Session 2: EUDR Delayed – What’s Next for Strengthening Readiness in the Months Ahead
The Asia-Pacific region stands at the heart of global agriculture, powering economies with commodities like palm oil from Indonesia, cocoa from the Philippines, and coffee from Vietnam. With over 15% of the world’s forested land, including Indonesia’s tropical rainforests, the region is vital for biodiversity preservation, climate regulation, and carbon storage.
Agriculture provides 75% of Asia’s producers with their primary income, serving as a foundation for livelihoods and local economies. However, heavy reliance on this sector exposes it to vulnerabilities, underscoring the need for resilient, sustainable systems.
Amid shifting regulations like EUDR, CSRD, CSDDD, and FSMA, businesses must enhance transparency and adopt sustainable sourcing practices. In Session 2, PT Royal Lestari Utama (RLU) and MARS will share insights on aligning smallholders with traceability standards, ensuring deforestation-free production, and using the EUDR delay strengthening supply chains ahead of evolving regulations.
