Advancing Sustainable Aquaculture towards the Blue Economic

Indonesian aquaculture has grown by nearly 20% in the last 5 years in terms of hectares in production and by over 50% per year in tons produced over the last 10 years (World Aquaculture Society, 2024). This growth is crucial for the country's blue economy, encompassing the sustainable use of aquatic resources for economic development and environmental protection.

Encountering the rapidly expanding aquaculture industry in Indonesia after successful meetings in Bali (2005) and Surabaya (2024), the World Aquaculture Society and its Asian Pacific Chapter, together with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, organize the Asian-Pacific Aquaculture 2024. Under the theme 'Aquaculture - Driving the Blue Economy', the APAC Aquaculture 2024 offers the international aquaculture community a chance to explore expanding the aquaculture industry in Indonesia. With such remarkable growth, APAC Aquaculture 2024 presents a great opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in aquaculture and connect with industry leaders.

Our Project Lead for Aquaculture, Adhiet Utomo, will represent us at the Asian-Pacific Aquaculture 2024 conference as part of our commitment to advancing sustainable aquaculture and driving Indonesia’s aquaculture growth and development across Southeast Asia towards the blue economy. Connect with our expert and explore the possibility of advancing aquaculture sustainability.
