We Become the Member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) to Drive Sustainability of the Palm Oil Industry

One of our significant milestones is becoming a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) in October 2022. This membership marks our dedication to driving positive change through promoting responsible and ethical practices, underscoring our commitment to sustainability by mitigating climate change, improving smallholder livelihoods, and ensuring fair labor conditions in the palm oil industry. Research has shown that palm oil certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) results in a 35% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to non-certified palm oil. This decrease is due to several factors, including higher crop yields, reduced land use per unit of product, and minimal cultivation of oil palms on peat soil (LCA: 2020).

The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a global, non-profit organization comprised of voluntary members. It aims to unite stakeholders from every segment of the palm oil supply chain, including producers, processors, traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks, investors, and non-governmental organizations, to establish and enforce global standards for sustainable palm oil.

The mission of the RSPO is to create a more inclusive supply chain. Since 2013, we have been instrumental in assisting businesses to reshape markets to establish sustainable palm oil as the norm. We achieve this by tracking and tracing products from seed to table, ensuring transparency and accountability, and conserving and enhancing natural ecosystems.

This approach not only improves the livelihoods of smallholder producers and rural communities but also ensures responsible palm oil production. We facilitate good agricultural practices through training and coaching sessions, helping producers prepare for RSPO certification that adheres to zero-deforestation policies and other sustainability standards. By joining the RSPO membership, we are committed to our effort to make the palm oil industry more sustainable and contribute to positive social and environmental impact while improving the lives of smallholder producers and rural communities, which can be achieved through collaboration with like-minded members.

Join us in creating a sustainable future for the palm oil industry. You can talk to our expert to learn more about the collaboration to drive positive environmental and social impacts.
