We are at SPOD 2025 – Advancing Fair, Equitable, and Transparent Sustainable Palm Oil Supply Chains
At the heart of every product containing palm oil lies a vast and complex network of people: smallholder farmers cultivating the land, workers navigating challenging environments, and communities whose livelihoods are intrinsically tied to global trade. As the world’s demand for palm oil continues, so does the urgency to ensure that its production respects human rights, protects communities, and uplifts the most vulnerable contributors in the supply chain.
This May, we are proud to join the Sustainable Palm Oil Dialogue (SPOD) 2025 in Paris—an essential forum focused on the social dimension of the palm oil sector. This year’s dialogue emphasizes a crucial shift: putting people—not just products—at the center of sustainable supply chains.
Table of Index:
The Role and Responsibility of European Companies
As businesses operate across borders, the need to address social issues such as labour rights, fair wages, safe working conditions, and community impacts becomes essential. Prioritising these elements not only improves the well-being of workers and related communities but also fosters supply chain resilience, strengthens brand reputation, boosts consumer trust, and ensures compliance with global standards and legislations.
Integrating social responsibility into supply chains is no longer a choice—it’s a necessity. It is a foundational element of a resilient, ethical, and future-ready global economy.
At SPOD 2025, we will examine what companies are doing to prevent negative social impacts and ensure they have a positive influence on workers, local communities, and Indigenous Peoples. The dialogue will also unpack the various legislative frameworks emerging around human rights due diligence (HRDD)—highlighting not only the “why” but also the “how” of inclusive procurement and smallholder inclusion.
Our Commitment: Making Traceability Work for People

KOLTIVA KOLTIVA stands at the intersection of innovation and impact. We bring a unique approach to palm oil traceability—one that combines technology with local knowledge. Through our integrated digital ecosystem, we support companies in tracing commodities from farm to factory, while embedding social sustainability indicators into every layer of the supply chain.
Our field-first approach means we don’t just collect data—we build capacity. Our field teams engage directly with tens of thousands of smallholders, providing training, tools, and market access to build long-term resilience. We ensure that clients sourcing palm oil can not only verify origin and legality, but also the well-being and empowerment of producers and their communities.
We believe that traceability must do more than track products—it must create shared value for those at the beginning of the supply chain.
What’s at Stake: People, Planet, and Profit
The SPOD 2025 dialogue will spotlight what businesses can do to prevent negative social impacts and proactively contribute to the well-being of workers, local communities, and Indigenous Peoples. This includes:
Ensuring fair labor practices and safe working conditions
Promoting gender equity and inclusion
Engaging in free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC) with Indigenous communities
Embedding inclusive procurement practices that strengthen smallholder resilience
Meeting emerging due diligence regulations across key markets
KOLTIVA is ready to share how data-driven solutions and on-the-ground relationships can help businesses go beyond box-ticking and create real, measurable social impact.
Let’s Build a Responsible Future Together
As we look ahead, collaboration is key. SPOD 2025 is more than a conference—it’s a call to action. Together with ASD, IDH, RSPO, and the broader sustainable palm oil community, KOLTIVA invites you to join us in building a supply chain that is not only deforestation-free but inequality-free.
