Through KoltiTrace, we empower more than 25,000 coffee producers across Latin America by combining agronomist coaching with digital traceability tools, enabling smallholders to improve yields, adopt climate-smart practices, and comply with the stringent regulations.
Our end-to-end supply chain transparency from farm to cup, integrating geospatial mapping, transaction tracking, and compliance monitoring to help agribusiness partners meet international regulations while building consumer trust and empowering smallholder coffee producers
By uniting technology, local expertise, and multi-stakeholder collaboration, we are shaping resilient and inclusive coffee supply chains that strengthen producer communities, protect forests, and connect Latin American coffee to global markets on the foundation of transparency and sustainability.
Koltiva’s participation at Expo Café Mexico 2025 reflects its commitment to driving sustainability, transparency, and innovation in the coffee sector, creating opportunities to connect with producers, buyers, and industry leaders while co-creating solutions that shape the future of Latin American coffee.
Coffee is not only one of the world’s most beloved beverages but also the livelihood of millions of producers across Latin America. As the region continues to play a pivotal role in global coffee production, new challenges and opportunities emerge: adapting to climate change, meeting international sustainability regulations, and ensuring fair livelihoods for smallholder producers.
At Koltiva, we are committed to addressing these challenges through technology-driven solutions that promote transparency, inclusion, and sustainability in the coffee sector.
We believe coffee supply chains must be built on trust, transparency, and inclusivity. For too long, the complexities of the global coffee trade have left smallholder producers at a disadvantage, disconnected from the markets and consumers who rely on their work. Our work is to transform that, ensuring every cup of coffee tells a story of fairness, sustainability, and resilience.
From September 4–6, 2025, at the World Trade Center and Pepsi Center in Mexico City, Expo Café Mexico will once again open its doors as the most important coffee event in the country and a leading platform in Latin America. With its blend of exhibitions, workshops, tastings, and networking opportunities, Expo Café brings together every stakeholder in the coffee supply chain—from producers and cooperatives to buyers, innovators, and investors.
This year, Koltiva is proud to participate as attendees. Our presence at Expo Café reflects our commitment to transforming the Latin American coffee sector through sustainability, traceability, and inclusive growth.
Coffee is one of our flagship commodities, and we take pride in our role as a trusted partner for producers, cooperatives, exporters, and roasters. Through our integrated solutions, we address some of the most pressing challenges facing the sector today, from traceability, compliance, sustainability, and inclusivity.
The foundation of a resilient coffee supply chain lies with smallholder producers. Across Latin America, we work closely with them to provide knowledge, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), digital tools, and advisory services. Through training, producers improve productivity, adopt climate-smart practices, and enhance the quality of their harvests.
By equipping producers with KoltiTrace, our proprietary digital traceability platform, they can register farms, record activities, and track transactions. This transparency strengthens compliance with global regulations while also improving bargaining power and access to premium markets.
“Our work in Latin America is to ensure that coffee producers are not left behind in the global movement toward sustainability and digitalization. By equipping them with the tools they need, we not only improve livelihoods but also strengthen the coffee supply chain as a whole” said Oziel Serrano, Customer Success Officer for the Americas
Traceability is at the heart of what we do. Buyers, consumers, and regulators increasingly demand proof of origin, sustainability, and ethical practices. With KoltiTrace, we provide end-to-end visibility across the entire supply chain, from farm to cup.
This includes geospatial farm mapping, transaction traceability, deforestation risk analysis, climate impact assessments, and labor rights data. By ensuring every step of the coffee journey is recorded and verified, our partners can build trust and tell authentic, data-backed stories.
“Transparency is the foundation of trust in the coffee industry. With KoltiTrace, we provide full visibility from farm to cup, ensuring compliance with international standards and empowering our partners to tell authentic stories about their coffee.” Oziel added.
Global regulations such as the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), CSRD, CSDDD, and FSMA are reshaping how agricultural commodities are produced and traded. We helps our partners across Latin America comply with these requirements through geospatial monitoring, risk analysis, and reporting.
This not only secures access to critical export markets but also contributes to protecting forests and biodiversity. At Koltiva, we recognize that compliance must go hand-in-hand with inclusivity, ensuring that smallholder producers, women, and youth are fully integrated into global coffee markets.
At Koltiva, we recognize that technology alone is insufficient. Building truly sustainable supply chains means ensuring inclusivity where smallholder farmers, women, and youth are fully integrated into global coffee markets.
Beyond technology, inclusivity is central to resilient supply chains. Smallholder inclusion is at the heart of Koltiva’s work in Latin America, where millions of producers sustain the industry but often face systemic barriers.
Through agronomist coaching combined with digital tools that map farms, capture production data, and validate transactions, we integrate producers into traceable, sustainable networks. This enables them to meet compliance requirements, access premium markets, and benefit from fairer prices and financial services.
This holistic approach not only improves livelihoods and climate resilience but also strengthens the long-term reliability of Latin America’s coffee sector.
One of our most impactful projects spans eight countries: Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru, Guatemala, and Colombia. We have supported agribusinesses to integrate over 25,000 smallholder coffee producers into formal, traceable supply chains. This milestone underscores the crucial role of digital tools in bridging the gap between sustainability ambitions and on-the-ground implementation. We support clients in embedding sustainability into their sourcing strategies, ensuring that environmental and social impact is verifiable, scalable, and continuously improving, while empowering smallholder coffee producers.
These coffee producers often faced challenges accessing premium markets due to a lack of traceability and compliance documentation. By deploying KoltiTrace, we enabled farm-level data collection, geospatial mapping, and transparent record-keeping, ensuring every bean is traceable to its origin.
Producers also received training in good agricultural practices, post-harvest handling, and climate adaptation. This improved coffee quality, boosted yields, and reduced environmental impact. For many, it was the first time gaining direct access to international buyers demanding traceable, sustainable coffee.
“Sustainability begins with visibility. KoltiTrace is more than a digital tool—it’s a data-driven transformation that empowers producers, agronomists, and companies to make informed, impactful decisions that drive real change” said Silvan Ziegler, Senior Head of Markets America, Koltiva.
This initiative highlights how digital traceability bridges the gap between sustainability commitments and real-world implementation, ensuring measurable environmental and social impact.
Latin America’s coffee sector stands at a crossroads. Climate change, shifting consumer expectations, and regulatory pressures are transforming the way coffee is grown, traded, and consumed. At Koltiva, we see this as an opportunity to drive positive change.
We believe the future of coffee lies in technology-enabled, farmer-centered, and sustainability-driven supply chains. By working hand in hand with local communities and global partners, we are building a coffee sector that is not only profitable but also equitable and environmentally responsible.
As we continue to expand our work across Latin America, our commitment remains clear: to empower farmers, ensure traceability, and drive inclusivity. We are not just building systems—we are building trust. And trust is what ensures that the coffee in your cup contributes to a fairer, greener, and more resilient world.
For us, coffee is more than a commodity. It is a bridge that connects people, cultures, and economies. Through our work, we aim to strengthen, make more transparent, and make more sustainable that connection than ever.
Expo Café has established itself as the meeting point for the coffee industry in Mexico and Latin America. Over the years, it has become a hub for producers, roasters, equipment manufacturers, distributors, and professional buyers from the HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, Catering) and retail sectors. For us, it represents the perfect platform to connect with every link of the value chain and collaborate on shaping the future of coffee.
This year’s edition promises to bring together hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of participants, from smallholder farmers to global coffee brands. As participants, we look forward to learning, sharing, and building connections that will help us and our partners drive innovation and sustainability across the region.
As we prepare for Expo Café Mexico 2025, we do so with a clear commitment: to continue driving transparency, sustainability, and inclusion in the coffee industry. Our participation is not just about showcasing what we do, but about learning, collaborating, and co-creating solutions with others in the industry.
For us, every cup of coffee should tell a story—not just of flavor and quality, but of resilience, fairness, and shared prosperity. We look forward to bringing this perspective to Expo Café and to working with partners across Latin America and beyond to shape the future of coffee together.
As we continue to strengthen the coffee sector across Latin America, working side by side with agribusinesses and smallholder farmers, our work remains clear: to deliver end-to-end traceability, improve farmer livelihoods, and build sustainable supply chains that meet the world’s growing demand for responsibly produced coffee.
Expo Café Mexico provides the ideal setting for exchanging knowledge and fostering new collaborations.
